Joanna (Shuang) Buckland is a dedicated accounting professional with over 20 years of experience. Originally from China, Joanna relocated to Australia in 2000 to pursue her passion for accountancy, earning her Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Wollongong in 2002. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 2012, Joanna stepped into public accounting as a partner at an accounting firm in Sydney in 2014,building on a successful decade as a commercial accountant.

In 2016, Joanna joined Smith Sharpe & Abbott after relocating from Sydney with her family, drawn to the simple charm and welcoming community of Armidale. Her hard work and leadership led to her becoming a partner in 2021, and she remains committed to upholding the firm’s high standards.

Outside of work, Joanna loves music and enjoys singing in her free time.  She also enjoys bush walking with family and friends,taking the opportunity to explore the stunning natural surroundings of Armidale.

She appreciates the simple joys of country life and values time spent with her family, finding a good balance between work and personal life.
